Raipur, 23 June 2025:
Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah today interacted with security forces personnel in Nava Raipur, Chhattisgarh. The event was attended by Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, Deputy Chief Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, Union Home Secretary, Director of the Intelligence Bureau, Director General of BSF, and other senior officials.

Addressing the troops, Shri Amit Shah paid tribute to the courage, valor, sacrifice, and dedication of the central armed forces, the CoBRA team, Chhattisgarh Police, and DRG personnel. He stated that he has full faith in the bravery and hard work of the forces, which make encounters with Naxalites successful.

He added that the courage, patience, and commitment with which the forces have dismantled Maoist hideouts have astonished security agencies worldwide. “I know that when our soldiers set their minds to something, they accomplish it. Based on this confidence, I declare that Naxalism will be eradicated from the country by March 31, 2026,” he asserted.

Shri Shah noted that Naxalism has been a grave disaster for poor tribal regions, leading to the deaths of around 40,000 people over the past 35 years and leaving many others disabled. “Naxalite violence deprived people of basic necessities like food, electricity, education, housing, toilets, and clean drinking water. The region remained underdeveloped, as if in a state of slavery. The root cause of this backwardness is Naxalism,” he emphasized.

The Home Minister expressed satisfaction that in areas now free from Naxalism, the government is delivering development—food, healthcare, education, electricity, housing, toilets, and clean water—connecting people to the mainstream. “When a child learns to write A, B, C with a pencil instead of holding a gun, it changes the future of not just the region, but the entire nation. That moment is coming soon,” he said.

He reiterated, “When India becomes Naxal-free on March 31, 2026, under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, it will be one of the most significant moments in the history of independent India.”

“When the history of Naxalism’s defeat is written, the sacrifices and efforts of our security forces will be etched in golden letters,” he added.

Book Launch on Naxalite Atrocities

During his visit, Shri Amit Shah also launched the book ‘Leor Oyana’, which documents the brutal massacres committed by Naxalites against tribal communities and the efforts to save Bastar. The book highlights the pain of the innocent and unarmed victims of Naxal violence and is expected to expose those who show misplaced sympathy for Naxalites in the name of human rights.
