Negligence in Preparing Seniority List of Surplus Teachers
Action Taken by Commissioner, Bilaspur Division
Raipur, June 5, 2025: Block Education Officer (BEO) M.D. Diwan of Bamhnidih, Janjgir-Champa district, has been suspended for negligence in following the rationalization guidelines issued by the School Education Department. The suspension order was issued by the Commissioner of Bilaspur Division.
As per the government’s instructions, a seniority list was to be prepared by identifying surplus teachers posted in the Bamhnidih block of Janjgir-Champa district. The District Education Officer (DEO), Janjgir-Champa, submitted a report to the Collector highlighting irregularities in the seniority list prepared by the BEO.
Although the errors in the list were corrected before the counseling process and the procedure was completed, the Collector considered the initial negligence in preparing the list as a serious matter. Based on the Collector’s proposal for disciplinary action, the Commissioner of Bilaspur Division issued an order suspending BEO Diwan with immediate effect.
During the suspension period, his headquarters has been designated as the office of the Joint Director, School Education Department, Bilaspur Division, Bilaspur.
