Detailed discussions held on land records reform, digital surveys, and speedy resolution of cases in revenue courts

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today met with the Secretary of the Department of Land Resources, Government of India, Shri Manoj Joshi at his office in the Assembly premises. During the meeting, an in-depth discussion took place on strengthening the land records system, use of technological innovations in land surveys, and expediting the disposal of pending cases in revenue courts. State Revenue Minister Shri Tankaram Verma was also present at the meeting.
Chief Minister Shri Sai stated that the state government is fully committed to updating and improving land revenue documents. He emphasized that the more organized the revenue records are, the faster and more effectively disputes in revenue courts can be resolved. He also assured that the state government would work hand-in-hand with all initiatives of the central government related to land record reforms to make the system more efficient and people-oriented.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the central government is making significant efforts to bring transparency, speed, and accuracy to land revenue records through technology-driven innovations, which will directly benefit farmers and common citizens. He instructed revenue department officials to take all necessary steps promptly in this direction.
Union Secretary Shri Manoj Joshi acknowledged that the condition of land records in Chhattisgarh is comparatively better and is improving further with the active cooperation of the state government. He explained that earlier, land surveys conducted using traditional methods took a long time, but now with modern technologies, the process has become faster, more accurate, and more reliable.
Mr. Joshi added that the central government is making special efforts to improve the land record management system and is providing both financial and technical support to the states. He noted that during land transactions, technical issues often arise in updating maps, which can now be effectively addressed through digital surveys. This will allow every citizen to access updated and authentic maps, reducing discrepancies and enabling better planning of urban expansion.
Present at the meeting were Chief Minister’s Principal Secretary Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Joint Secretary to the Government of India Shri Kunal Satyarthi, Revenue Secretary Shri Avinash Champawat, Director of Land Records Shri Vineet Nandanwar, and other departmental officials.
