Chief Minister issues strict instructions to officials in high-level review meeting on fertilizer availability
Raipur, July 1, 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today held a high-level review meeting at the Mahanadi Bhawan Secretariat regarding the availability of fertilizers and seeds in view of the upcoming Kharif season. He directed officials to ensure continuous and uninterrupted supply of fertilizers to farmers across the state.
The Chief Minister specifically emphasized promoting the use of NPK fertilizer as an alternative to DAP and instructed officials to inform farmers about its benefits. He directed district collectors to regularly monitor and review the availability and distribution of fertilizers through cooperative societies at the district level.
Chief Minister Sai said this is a crucial period for agriculture and any disruption in the supply of fertilizers and seeds at this stage would directly impact sowing and crop yield. He instructed that fertilizers must be made available to farmers on time, in adequate quantities, and at reasonable prices. He added that arrangements for NPK fertilizers are being made in cooperative societies and immediate steps must be taken to ensure their availability to farmers.
Expressing serious concern over the sale of substandard and fake fertilizers, the Chief Minister directed strict and immediate action against such practices.
Present at the meeting were Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Rahul Bhagat, Agriculture Production Commissioner Smt. Shahla Nigar, Director of Agriculture Shri Rahul Dev, and officers and staff of MARKFED.
