Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah chaired a review meeting in Raipur on Naxalism with DGPs/ADGPs and senior officials from Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Odisha

The Union Home Minister urged Naxalites to take advantage of the surrender policy, lay down arms, and join the mainstream.

“Naxalites, who usually rest during the monsoon season, will not sleep peacefully this year – the security forces’ operations will continue,” said Home Minister Amit Shah.

He reiterated with confidence that India will be free from Naxalism by March 31, 2026.

Raipur, 22 June 2025: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah chaired a high-level review meeting in Raipur focused on Naxalism. The meeting was attended by the DGPs, ADGPs, and senior officers of Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

Shri Shah praised the efforts of the Chhattisgarh government over the past year and a half, stating that under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Shri Vijay Sharma, the long-stalled anti-Naxal campaign has gained momentum. He highlighted that both leaders have sharpened and guided the campaign, boosted the morale of security forces, and made significant contributions to the overall fight against Naxalism.

Reaffirming his confidence, Shri Shah said that India will be completely free of Naxalism by March 31, 2026. He added that with the courage shown by security forces and the precise strategies of intelligence agencies, this goal is achievable. He issued a strong warning, stating that Naxalites who traditionally rest during the monsoon season will not find peace this year, as security operations will continue without pause.

The Union Minister appealed to the youth who have strayed onto the path of Naxalism to take advantage of the state government’s surrender policy, lay down their weapons, and join the mainstream. He emphasized that this is a golden opportunity to be part of the nation’s development journey. Shri Shah assured that the promises made by the government to surrendered Naxalites will be fulfilled and even greater support will be extended where possible.
