New Delhi, June 6, 2025 – Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Shri Vishnudev Sai, met Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi in New Delhi on Friday. During the meeting, he discussed peace initiatives in Bastar, achievements of the state government, and various ongoing schemes. He also briefed the Prime Minister about the recently organized Sushasan Tihar (Good Governance Festival) in the state.
During his visit, CM Sai also met Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah at his residence, where discussions were held on state development, anti-Naxal operations, and other key matters.
The Chief Minister stated that Bastar, once known for guns and landmines, is now transforming—with mobile towers rising where fear once prevailed. These towers are not just means of communication, but have become symbols of development and trust.
CM Sai informed that in the last one and a half years, the government has established 64 new forward security camps. The presence of police has fostered a sense of security in nearby villages, and mobile networks have also reached these regions. So far, 671 mobile towers have been made operational, out of which 365 support 4G services. This, he emphasized, marks not just a technological shift but a communication revolution in tribal areas.
He added that the mobile towers signify a deeper change—children and youth in Bastar are now connected to the digital world. Tasks that once required students to migrate to cities—like studying or preparing for competitive exams—can now be done from their villages via mobile networks. Bastar’s youth are now building their future through smartphones.
The CM highlighted how villages near security camps are now receiving basic amenities such as electricity, water, healthcare, and education. Under the Niyad Nellanar Yojana, 146 villages are being provided with 18 types of community services and 25 different government schemes.
Talking about Sushasan Tihar, he said hundreds of solution camps were organized, where MPs, MLAs, and officials reached out directly to villagers to resolve their issues. At these camps, people were offered various services on a single platform—ration cards, Aadhaar registration, pensions, health checkups, school admissions, Ayushman cards, PM housing, and Ujjwala gas connections, among others.
CM Sai also gave a detailed account of Chhattisgarh’s water conservation initiatives and innovations. He informed the Prime Minister that the state government is working in mission mode to tackle the water crisis, using both community participation and advanced technologies.
He pointed out that rainfall days in the state have dropped—from about 100 days earlier to just 65 now. To combat this, villages are adopting new water-saving techniques. Where rainwater used to flow away, efforts are now being made to capture and store it using modern technologies such as GIS mapping and the “Jaldoot” mobile app, which helps track areas with high demand.
Women are playing a key role in this mission—cleaning and deepening ponds, and reviving traditional water sources. Their involvement is helping resolve water scarcity and providing communities with clean, accessible water locally.
The CM also informed the Prime Minister about the Nalanda Campus, India’s first 24×7 hybrid public library. Built at a cost of ₹18 crore, the facility includes an e-library, Youth Tower, Health Zone, and solar-powered infrastructure. Over 11,000 students have benefited so far, with more than 300 succeeding in UPSC and CGPSC exams. He also spoke about the Prayas model, which helps underprivileged and tribal students prepare for national exams like IIT-JEE, NEET, and CLAT. So far, 1,508 students have been admitted to prestigious institutions across India.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi appreciated CM Vishnudev Sai’s efforts and assured full support from the central government in advancing the development of Chhattisgarh.
