Action Taken by Divisional Commissioner Over Serious Irregularities in the Rationalization Process
Raipur, June 11, 2025: Durg Divisional Commissioner has suspended Jaysingh Bhardwaj, the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Dondi in Balod district, with immediate effect due to serious irregularities in the teacher rationalization process. The action was based on the findings of the District-level Rationalization Committee of Balod, which uncovered significant discrepancies in the execution of the process under Bhardwaj’s supervision.
The preliminary investigation revealed that several teachers were incorrectly marked as “excess staff” in violation of established rules. For example, Mrs. Rita Garewal, who is still in her probation period, was wrongly categorized as excess. Similarly, Mr. Nutan Kumar Sahu was declared surplus despite being the only mathematics teacher posted at the school.
Severe errors were also found in subject-teacher alignment at schools like Former Middle School in Salhe, Dhurwatola, and Puttarwahi. These instances highlighted gross negligence and administrative arbitrariness on the part of Mr. Bhardwaj.
As a result, under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1966, the Divisional Commissioner has ordered his immediate suspension. During the suspension period, Mr. Bhardwaj’s headquarters will be the District Education Officer’s Office in Balod.
