“Rationalization process is a successful effort to shape children’s future”: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, 11 June 2025 – Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the rationalization process initiated to enhance and make the education system more inclusive in the state has yielded highly effective results. Out of 453 schools that were previously without teachers, appointments have now been made in 447 schools. With the new academic session beginning on June 16, these schools will once again resonate with the sound of bells and classroom teaching. The appointment of teachers in previously teacher-less schools has sparked new hope. Parents and children in rural areas are elated by the news of teachers arriving in their villages. Expressing gratitude to the government and administration, parents have started dreaming again of a better future for their children.

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that education is the top priority of his government. Several schools in the state, especially in remote areas, were without teachers. Therefore, the rationalization process was implemented with full transparency to ensure the deployment of teachers wherever needed. The placement of teachers in 100% of the state’s schools is proof of this process’s success. This is not merely an administrative exercise, but a meaningful step toward securing the future of our children.

According to information from the Education Department, under the rationalization process, regular teachers have been appointed in 357 primary schools and 30 middle schools that previously lacked teachers. Of the 66 teacher-less high schools in the state, counseling for posting teachers is still ongoing in 4 schools in Sukma district and 2 in Narayanpur district, while appointments have already been completed in the remaining 60 high schools.

As per information from the District Education Officer in Narayanpur, out of 3 teacher-less high schools in the district, 3 teachers have already been posted in Sulega Dhaudai High School through rationalization. Counseling for appointments in Kanhargaon and Sonpur High Schools is scheduled for June 12. Similarly, in Sukma district, despite completion of the rationalization process at the district level, four high schools—Chintalnar, Gumma, Ganjenar, and Kanjipani—still remain without teachers. The district administration hopes these vacancies will be filled through state-level counseling. The District Education Officer of Sukma informed that these schools have continued teaching activities through nearby middle schools and guest teachers.

Currently, excluding 4 schools in Sukma and 2 in Bijapur where appointments are still in progress, there is no school in the state from primary to higher secondary level that is without teachers.

It is noteworthy that none of the higher secondary schools in the state were completely teacher-less. Only four were single-teacher schools, and under rationalization, they have now been staffed with additional teachers. Special attention has been given to ensure subject-wise posting of lecturers in high schools and higher secondary schools to provide consistent and quality education.

Out of 5,672 single-teacher primary schools in the state, 4,465 have now been provided with two or more teachers following the rationalization. Only 1,207 primary schools remain single-teacher schools. Likewise, out of 211 single-teacher middle schools, 204 have been provided with two or more teachers, leaving only 7 such schools. The Education Department is actively working on deploying more teachers in these as well. Of the 49 single-teacher high schools in the state, 48 have now been fully staffed. As of today, only one high school remains a single-teacher school in the entire state.
