Raipur, June 11, 2025: Children in the remote village of Baturakchar, located in Gharghoda block of Raigarh district, are finally getting a fair chance at quality education. Until recently, the local primary school had only one teacher, who was temporarily assigned from another school. However, under the state government’s rationalization initiative, four teachers have now been officially appointed to this school.
With 97 students enrolled, the severe shortage of teachers had been adversely affecting their education. A local parent, Itwar Das Mahant, shared that his son Tikeshwar is in class two, but the entire school was being run by a single teacher. He emphasized the importance of early education and how the lack of teachers was wasting these crucial years. Now, with more teachers, he believes the quality of education will significantly improve.
Another villager, Shakharam Rathia, whose son Tulesh is in class three, also expressed his happiness. He noted that earlier, if the lone teacher took a leave, the entire school had to be closed. With additional staff, such disruptions will no longer occur.
The district education department completed the rationalization process on June 3 and 4, posting teachers to 21 schools across the district that previously had none. Most of these schools are in remote rural areas. This move will allow regular classes to resume and get children’s education back on track.
Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, this initiative has brought new hope to parents regarding their children’s future. The education department’s efforts are proving to be a significant step toward improving the quality of education in rural regions.
