A delegation of the Chhattisgarh Teachers’ Association met with District Education Officer of Raipur, Mr. Vijay Khandelwal, to request the withdrawal of the order issued for organizing summer camp classes during the summer vacation.The delegation pointed out that the School Education Department of Chhattisgarh, through an order issued by the Under Secretary, has already declared the summer vacation from May 1 to June 15, 2025. They emphasized that due to the extreme heat, the lack of proper cooling facilities in schools, and the fact that assigning duty to teachers during this period entitles them to earned leave—which increases the financial burden on the government—such an order should be revoked. Moreover, the health of both students and teachers could be adversely affected by the scorching summer temperatures.Considering these concerns, the Chhattisgarh Teachers’ Association appealed for the cancellation of the order. Responding promptly, the District Education Officer annulled the previously issued order in the interest of students’ and teachers’ health during the extreme heat. He also assured that future actions would be in line with the guidelines issued by the government.The delegation expressed its gratitude to the District Education Officer. The delegation included Sunil Nayak (Organization Minister), Manish Dewangan (District President), Rajesh Kumar Singh (Secretary), Mohit Verma (Treasurer), Omkar Verma, Narendra Singh Thakur, Balram Yadu, Lakshmi Rao, Bharti Pachauri, Gayatri Thakur, Girdhar Sahu, Ramlal Sahu, Neelkanth Verma, Ramakant Yadav, Manish Mahanand, Atul Mishra, Harish Raghuvanshi, Upendra Sahu, and other key office bearers.
