Jashpur, 19 April 2025 – The Excise Department conducted a major raid against illegal liquor in the Kansabel range of Jashpur district. This action was taken under the directives of Secretary and Excise Commissioner Mrs. R. Sangeeta, following instructions from Collector Dr. Rohit Vyas and Deputy Excise Commissioner Mr. Vijay Sen Sharma, and under the guidance of District Excise Officer Mrs. Mahima Pattavi.
During the operation, 30 liters of Mahua liquor were seized from the possession of Ramkeshwar Ram (father – Jagmohan Ram, age – 33 years), a resident of Bhuinhartoli, Police Station Narayanpur, District Jashpur. A case has been registered against the accused under Chhattisgarh Excise Act Sections 34(2) and 59(k), and he has been sent to jail.The successful operation was carried out with the active participation of Excise Sub-Inspector Manohar Lal Kahar, Head Constable Dhaneshwar Paikra, Constable Jugal Patel, Home Guard Manjeet Maheshwari, Lokesh Paikra, and female constable Poonam.The Excise Department continues to run strict campaigns across the district to curb illegal liquor, and this action is a part of that ongoing initiative.
