31 Meritorious Children of Workers Receive ₹2 Lakh Each from Chief Minister
₹19.71 Crore Transferred Online to 38,200 Workers’ Accounts
Raipur, 15 June 2025“Our government is committed with full dedication to the empowerment and upliftment of worker families. Your love and cooperation are our greatest strength, and together we will realize the dream of a developed, prosperous, and empowered Chhattisgarh,” said Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai during a ceremony held at the New Circuit House in Raipur under the Mukhyamantri Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana. Under this scheme, 31 meritorious children of registered laborers, who secured positions in the top 10 in Class 10 and 12 board exams, received incentive awards of ₹2 lakh each.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister also transferred over ₹19.71 crore directly to the bank accounts of 38,200 registered construction workers in the state under various welfare schemes of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
The Chief Minister extended his congratulations to the children of laborers who excelled in board examinations and said the government deeply understands the needs of worker families. He highlighted that even students from such families aspiring to study abroad are eligible for up to ₹50 lakh in assistance from the Labour Department.
He further said that the government is working innovatively to create policies that generate more employment opportunities for the youth. Referring to the state’s investor-friendly industrial policy, he noted that the state has already received investment proposals exceeding ₹5 lakh crore, which will generate large-scale employment.
Sharing his experience as the former Union Minister of State for Labour, Shri Sai said that he shares a special bond with workers and always finds satisfaction in working for their welfare. He recalled several historic reforms made under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his tenure, including improvements in pension schemes and the introduction of the Universal PF Number to resolve repeated claim issues. He also mentioned the decision to use nearly ₹27,000 crore of unclaimed PF funds for workers’ welfare.
He urged all present to help spread awareness about labour welfare schemes so more workers can benefit. He also shared information about state-run programs like providing hot and nutritious meals to workers and other welfare measures.

Industry Minister Shri Lakhan Lal Dewangan said that under the leadership of CM Sai, Chhattisgarh is moving toward holistic development. He highlighted that in the last 1.5 years, all promises made under “Modi’s Guarantee” have been fulfilled. Today, ₹19.71 crore was distributed to 38,200 workers, and ₹62 lakh was given to 31 meritorious students. He mentioned that under the Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh Shram Ann Yojana, affordable meals are being provided at ₹5 in 46 centers across 17 districts and will soon expand to all industrial regions. He also announced free coaching facilities for workers’ children.
The Labour Minister said that under the new industrial policy, rules have been simplified for setting up industries, leading to increased investment and employment opportunities.
Dr. Ram Pratap Singh, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, stated that the state is progressing under Prime Minister Modi’s vision. The Board is currently running 31 welfare schemes, including Noni Empowerment, Mahtari Jatan, and Shramik Siyan Sahayata Yojana. It serves over 29.47 lakh registered workers and their families, offering support in health, education, and financial aid. He encouraged unregistered workers to sign up via the Shramev Jayate App, public service centers, or labour offices.
Success Stories from Beneficiaries
During the event, several students who benefited from the Noni Babu Medhavi Shiksha Sahayata Yojana expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister.
Hira Singh from Bhaiyathan, Surajpur district, shared that he completed his B.Tech from IIIT and is now working as a Junior Data Science Developer. He received ₹4.10 lakh through the scheme, which enabled him to complete his studies.
Amlendra Paikara, a final-year B.Tech student, said his family survives on daily wages, and this scheme helped him pay his college fees.
Deepak Paikara from a small village in Surajpur narrated his journey of reaching IIIT Raipur. He said the scheme has so far provided him nearly ₹4 lakh, which helped fund his engineering education.
