Raipur, 24 June 2025: It was announced during the 25th meeting of the Central Zonal Council held in Varanasi that the next meeting will be hosted in Bastar, Chhattisgarh. This decision is being seen as a historic step toward bringing remote and challenging regions of the country into the mainstream of national policy-making. Hosting such a high-level meeting in a region like Bastar reflects the strong commitment of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah to inclusive development and good governance.
During the meeting, senior officials expressed hope that by the time the next council meeting is held, significant and decisive progress would have been made in eradicating Naxalism in Bastar. With this belief, the Council has set the goal of presenting Bastar as a model of peace, stability, and development. This announcement is a testament to improved coordination and collective resolve between the state and central governments.
Welcoming the decision, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai said that organizing such a high-level meeting in Bastar is not only a matter of pride for the region but will also bring new momentum to its development. He expressed confidence that with the support of the central government, Bastar is moving from being a symbol of conflict to becoming a symbol of possibilities.
