Announcement of ₹20 Lakh for Construction of Community Hall in Balod
CM Attends District Women Presidents’ and Talent Felicitation Ceremony of Sen Community

Raipur, 17 June 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai emphasized that the Sen community is progressive and has a glorious history. Their contribution to the social, economic, and cultural spheres is invaluable, and they play a crucial role in the development and progress of Chhattisgarh. He was speaking at the Sen Samaj District Women Presidents’ and Talent Felicitation Ceremony held in Raipur today.
On this occasion, the Chief Minister announced an approval of ₹20 lakh for the construction of a community building for the Sen Samaj in Balod. The program commenced with the Chief Minister offering floral tributes at the portrait of Maharaj Sen and lighting a ceremonial lamp.
CM Sai highlighted that education is essential for bringing about change in any society, particularly emphasizing the need to promote education among women. He stated that an educated woman uplifts the entire family, and empowered women are the foundation of a strong society and, consequently, a strong nation. He reaffirmed his government’s belief that women are the cornerstone of nation-building.

The Chief Minister also mentioned the contribution of many prominent figures from the Sen community, including the late Shri Karpoori Thakur. He expressed happiness that the community is taking effective steps to eliminate social disparities and assured that the state government is fully committed to supporting the growth and upliftment of the Sen community.
He further noted that the state government is implementing various schemes to strengthen the economic condition of farmers and empower women. One such initiative is the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, launched under Prime Minister Modi’s guarantees. Today, 7 million women in the state are benefiting from this scheme, which promotes financial independence for women, enabling them to play a strong role in their families and society.
The Chief Minister also praised the Central Government’s Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao scheme, which aims to improve the gender ratio, promote girls’ education, and foster a positive outlook towards women in society. “Our daughters are our pride,” he said, adding that through this initiative, efforts are being made to ensure their education and safety.
The event was also addressed by MLA Shri Purandar Mishra and Chairman of the Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Sanjay Srivastava.
On this occasion, talented students, artists, and women social workers from the Sen community were felicitated with shawls and mementos. The event was attended by a large number of community members, including Ms. Mona Sen, Chairperson of the Chhattisgarh State Hair Artists Welfare Board, and Shri Puneet Sen, President of Chhattisgarh Sarv Sen Samaj.
