Chief Minister flags off 48 new vehicles added to the Transport Safety Fleet

Raipur, 17 June 2025 – Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai stated that the state government is giving top priority to making road transport and traffic safer and more efficient. The deployment of 48 new vehicles to the transport flying squad will certainly help reduce accidents, streamline traffic, and raise awareness among the public about following traffic rules. He was addressing a program held at his official residence, where he also handed over the keys of the new vehicles to transport department inspectors.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the government is committed to improving road safety and smooth traffic management across the state. With the help of these new official vehicles, the transport flying squad will be able to take swift action against traffic rule violators. This initiative will enhance the squad’s efficiency, reduce road accidents, improve enforcement of safety standards, and help maintain discipline in traffic management. He added that this move will ensure better monitoring and outreach of the transport team even in remote areas.
Appeal to Follow Traffic Rules
Chief Minister Sai appealed to the public to wear helmets and seat belts and follow traffic rules to protect not only their own lives but also the lives of others. He stated that through public participation, a safe, disciplined, and responsible road environment can be created. He also urged people not to drive under the influence of alcohol.
Present on the occasion were MLA Shri Purandar Mishra, Chairman of the Civil Supplies Corporation Shri Sanjay Srivastava, Secretary and Transport Commissioner Shri S. Prakash, Additional Transport Commissioner Shri D. Ravishankar, and other officers and staff of the Transport Department.
