Raipur, June 15, 2025:Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai has extended heartfelt gratitude to Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, for approving the construction of a 4-lane Keshkal bypass with paved shoulders in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region. The project, estimated at ₹307.96 crores, is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion in the Keshkal Ghat area and ensure smoother, safer, and uninterrupted travel.
The Chief Minister stated that Bastar is witnessing accelerated development under the “double engine” government model, referring to the combined efforts of the central and state governments. He emphasized that the approval of this bypass is a result of the coordinated development policies of both governments, aimed at integrating tribal-dominated regions like Bastar into the national mainstream. He expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Union Minister Shri Gadkari for their visionary approach, calling it a decisive step toward Bastar’s progress.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari shared the development via a tweet, announcing that the Ministry has approved the construction of an 11.38 km long, 4-lane bypass along the Keshkal Ghat stretch on National Highway-43 (new NH-30) in Kondagaon district. The bypass will be built to paved shoulder standards and is aimed at improving connectivity and safety in the difficult terrain of the Keshkal Ghat.
The construction of the bypass will not only provide an alternative route for vehicles but also ensure faster, smoother, and uninterrupted travel. It is expected to reduce traffic pressure in urban areas, thus alleviating issues of congestion and accidents. Additionally, the project will help lower pollution levels, promoting better environmental balance.
This initiative marks a significant stride in enhancing road infrastructure in the tribal region and promises to bring new opportunities for connectivity, safety, and regional development in Bastar.
