31 Meritorious Children of Laborers to Receive ₹2 Lakh Each from Chief Minister

₹19.71 Crore to Be Transferred to Construction Workers’ Accounts

Event Scheduled for June 15 at New Circuit House, Raipur

Raipur, June 13, 2025: Under the Chief Minister Noni Babu Meritorious Education Assistance Scheme, a total of 31 meritorious students—children of registered laborers who secured positions in the top 10 of Class 10 and Class 12 board exams—will be awarded ₹2 lakh each by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai during a special program at New Circuit House, Raipur, on June 15. Labor Minister Mr. Lakhan Lal Dewangan and Dr. Ram Pratap Singh, Chairman of the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board, will also attend the event.

Labor Minister Mr. Dewangan informed that under the proposed program, ₹2 lakh per student will be awarded to 26 Class 10 and 5 Class 12 meritorious students. The assistance includes ₹1 lakh for a two-wheeler and ₹1 lakh in cash as an incentive.

In addition, the Chhattisgarh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board will directly transfer over ₹19.71 crore to the bank accounts of 38,200 construction workers through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) under various welfare schemes.

CM Sewing Machine Scheme – ₹94,800 for 12 workers

CM Nonihaal Scholarship Scheme – ₹96.17 lakh for 4,825 workers

CM Noni Babu Meritorious Education Aid Scheme – ₹37.63 lakh for 155 workers

CM Construction Workers Longevity Scheme – ₹40,000 for 2 workers

CM Safety Equipment Assistance Scheme – ₹74.08 lakh for 4,939 workers

Outstanding Sports Incentive for Workers’ Children – ₹50,000 for 1 worker

Didi E-Rickshaw Assistance Scheme – ₹7 lakh for 7 workers

CM Death & Disability Assistance Scheme – ₹2.64 crore for 264 workers

CM Noni Empowerment Scheme – ₹4.97 crore for 2,486 workers

CM Senior Worker Assistance Scheme – ₹74.40 lakh for 372 workers

Uniform & Book Assistance for Workers’ Children – ₹2 crore for 15,066 workers

CM Housing Aid Scheme for Workers – ₹25 lakh for 25 workers

This initiative plays a significant role in enhancing the lives of construction workers and their families by offering financial aid and uplifting their living standards.
