Chief Minister Sai’s Innovative Initiative: Major Relief for Lakhs of Pensioners through DigiLocker

Raipur, 13 June 2025 – Under the leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chhattisgarh Government has taken a significant step to promote transparency, efficiency, and digital empowerment in government functioning. On the initiative of Chief Minister Sai, the State Finance Department and Directorate of Pensions have ensured the digital availability of Electronic Pension Payment Orders (ePPO) and other important documents through the DigiLocker platform. This initiative is being hailed as a historic achievement in the direction of the state’s digital transformation commitment.

Approximately 3.61 lakh government employees and 1.5 lakh pensioners in the state can now securely and authentically access key documents such as GPF statements, final payment orders, pension certificates, and pension payment orders from anywhere, at any time, through DigiLocker. This facility will eliminate the need for physical copies of documents and relieve individuals from making unnecessary visits to offices—thereby saving both time and resources.

Chief Minister Sai commended the technical expertise of the Directorate of Pensions, the diligent effort in digitizing records, and the effective coordination with the DigiLocker platform for the successful implementation of this innovative initiative. This move is not only making the administrative system more efficient but also increasing trust and satisfaction among citizens.

This initiative aligns with the spirit of the Government of India’s Digital India Mission and stands as a model from Chhattisgarh. It is directly benefiting pensioners, employees, and the administration alike.
