Only an honest government can present its report card to the people”: CM Vishnu Deo Sai

Raipur, May 9, 2025 — Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today said that only an honest government dares to present its report card to the public. Addressing a public grievance camp (Samadhan Shivir) organized under the Good Governance Festival in Madeli gram panchayat, Gariaband district, the CM highlighted his government’s transparent approach and efforts to directly reach citizens.

On the fifth day of the festival’s third phase, CM Sai announced several major projects, including the establishment of a ₹75 crore 132 kV substation and power line expansion in Madeli, widening of the 43-km Rajim–Chhura (via Beltukri) road at a cost of ₹147 crore, and completion of the long-pending Piparchhedi Reservoir project, which has been incomplete for 45 years.CM Sai began his speech with chants of Jai Bhagwan Rajiv Lochan and reflected on his government’s achievements in the past one and a half years, noting progress on Prime Minister Modi’s guarantees. He highlighted the approval of houses for 1.8 million poor families in the first cabinet meeting and informed that on May 13, an additional 350,000 families would receive housing under the central scheme. The government has also extended the survey deadline for Awas Plus Plus and relaxed eligibility norms.CM Sai mentioned the state’s record paddy procurement at ₹3,100 per quintal, disbursal of pending paddy bonus payments, and the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, which provides financial assistance to women. He also emphasized schemes like the Ramlala Darshan Yojana and Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojana that enable senior citizens to undertake pilgrimages.Distribution of benefits, annaprashan ceremony, and outreach to beneficiariesDuring the camp, CM Sai distributed tricycles to persons with disabilities and handed over various materials to beneficiaries of government schemes. He visited departmental stalls, reviewed application disposals, and directed officers to resolve pending cases promptly. The CM also participated in an annaprashan (first-feeding) ceremony for infants and a baby shower ritual for pregnant women.The event was attended by MLA Shri Rohit Sahu, Chhattisgarh State Warehousing Corporation Chairman Shri Chandulal Sahu, Gariaband District Panchayat President Shri Gaurishankar Kashyap, Chief Secretary Shri Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to CM Shri Subodh Kumar Singh, and CM’s Secretary Dr. Basavaraju S.
