Newlyweds to Soon Receive Benefits Under Mahtari Vandan Yojana: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

CM’s Chaupal Held Under the Mahua Tree in MathmaurRaipur, May 8, 2025 — As part of the third phase of the Good Governance Festival, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai made a surprise visit today to Mathmaur village in Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district. The unexpected arrival of the CM sparked great excitement among the villagers, who quickly prepared a beautiful bouquet from nearby flowers to give him a warm and heartfelt welcome. The Chief Minister set up a chaupal (village meeting) under a mahua tree in the center of the village and held direct discussions with the locals.While interacting with villagers about the benefits of government schemes, the CM announced that newly married women would soon also be eligible to receive benefits under the Mahtari Vandan Yojana. He also directed the village heads to prepare and submit lists of eligible families for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY).The CM began the chaupal with chants of “Bharat Mata Ki Jai” and “Chhattisgarh Mahtari Ki Jai.” He invited the village sarpanch to sit beside him and discussed the progress of development works and public welfare schemes in detail. Upon hearing about the CM’s visit, a large number of villagers from neighboring panchayats like Koliyari and Kuwanpur also gathered at Mathmaur to present their issues and demands.During the chaupal, the CM took feedback on the functioning of the ration shops, the Mahtari Vandan Yojana, and the PMAY. He specifically asked the women whether they were receiving the monthly amount of ₹1,000 on time. CM Sai clarified that eligible newly married women would also soon start receiving benefits under the scheme.33/11 kV Power Substation to Be Established in KuwanpurAlong with assessing the ground reality of welfare schemes, the CM made several major announcements for Mathmaur and surrounding villages. He announced the establishment of a 33/11 kV power substation in Kuwanpur and the construction of new roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY), connecting Fuljhar to Chandela, Tilouli to Darritola, Sanbora to Pando, Kuwanpur to Gajar, and Patpar Tola to Chandela.Land Settlement Camp for Resolving Revenue CasesCM Sai also approved the construction of a building for the Nayab Tehsildar office in Kuwanpur and directed the SDM to organize a settlement camp to resolve pending revenue cases. Additionally, approval was granted for a community hall in Mathmaur, providing villagers with a permanent facility for social events and meetings.100-Bed Hospital Approved for JanakpurThe CM informed the villagers that the construction of a 100-bed hospital in Janakpur had already been approved, ensuring that the residents of this tribal region would no longer need to travel far for medical treatment. On this occasion, he also felicitated students from the Government Higher Secondary School in Kuwanpur who had excelled in their board examinations. The CM engaged the students in discussions about their career plans and reviewed the school’s facilities.Present at the event were Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary to the CM Subodh Kumar Singh, CM’s Secretary Dr. Basavaraju S., and other senior officials.
