Raipur, April 12, 2025 — Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today attended the 18th Triennial Convention of the All India Electricity Workers Federation held in Gudhiyari, Raipur.Welcoming laborers from 21 states, the Chief Minister greeted them in the maternal home of Lord Ram and extended wishes on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. He said that the gathering of workers from across the country sends a strong message of unity and harmony. He also noted that Lord Ram spent 10 of his 14 years of exile in Chhattisgarh, a matter of pride for the state.Recalling his tenure as the Minister of State for Labour in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s first government, Shri Sai highlighted key decisions taken for workers’ welfare, including setting a minimum pension and utilizing unclaimed PF funds for workers’ benefit.Speaking on the importance of electricity, the Chief Minister emphasized that while Chhattisgarh is a power-surplus state, the government is actively working to expand electricity production capacity to meet rising future demands. He mentioned that the Prime Minister recently launched two power projects of 1350 MW and 850 MW in the state.CM Sai also revealed that investment proposals worth ₹3.5 lakh crore have been received in the energy sector. Under the PM Suryaghar Free Electricity Scheme, efforts are being made to provide electricity to every household. He said the state is progressing from subsidized to free electricity, with the government allocating subsidies in the budget for the scheme.The Chief Minister paid tribute to Shri Dattopant Thengadi for his lifelong dedication to labor welfare and honored his contributions.Present at the event were Federation leaders and coordinators Shri Radheshyam Jaiswal, Shri Madhusudan Joshi, Smt. Shobha Singhdeo, and electricity workers from 21 states across India.
