Raipur, April 4, 2025:
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai described the Kudargarh Mahotsav as a unique confluence of faith, devotion, and tradition. Addressing the concluding ceremony of the festival held at Kudargarh Dham in Surajpur district on the occasion of Chaitra Navratri, he emphasized the state government’s continued efforts to promote tourism in Chhattisgarh. He announced that Kudargarh Temple Dham has been included in the central government’s ‘PRASAD’ scheme, which will help accelerate the development of this major religious site.
Hospital to Be Established at Kudargarh Dham
During the event, the Chief Minister laid the foundation stone for a ropeway project at Kudargarh Dham, expected to be completed within two years. He also made several significant announcements for the development of the site, including administrative and multi-purpose community buildings worth Rs 50 lakh each. Additionally, Rs 50 lakh was allocated for the construction of stairs and drinking water facilities at Garhwatian Mata Temple, totaling Rs 1.5 crore in development works. A contract agreement for the ropeway project was also signed. CM Sai further announced the construction of a hospital at the Dham to provide better healthcare to pilgrims and local residents.
Foundation Stone Laid for Projects Worth Over Rs 105 Crore
Wishing prosperity and peace for the state, CM Sai performed bhoomi pujan and inaugurated 43 development projects worth more than Rs 105 crore. He flagged off the “Good Governance Rath” for the Bhatgaon Assembly constituency to promote awareness about various government schemes.
Rs 148 Crore Approved for Bhoramdeo Temple under Swadesh Darshan Scheme
Highlighting the government’s push for religious tourism, the CM informed that Rs 148 crore has been approved by the Government of India under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme for the development of Bhoramdeo Temple. Plans are underway to develop five major Shaktipeeths in Chhattisgarh—Kudargarh (Surajpur), Chandrahansini (Chandrapur), Maa Mahamaya (Ratanpur), Maa Bamleshwari (Dongargarh), and Maa Danteshwari (Dantewada)—modeled on the Char Dham circuit.
The state government has also resumed the pilgrimage scheme, offering travel benefits to senior citizens (above 60), widows, deserted women, and differently-abled individuals.
