Guidelines Issued by the Government for the Grand Celebration of Independence Day

Main State-Level Ceremony to be Held in Capital Raipur
Chief Minister to Hoist the National Flag and Address the Public

Raipur, 08 July 2025 – The Chhattisgarh Government has initiated preparations to celebrate the national festival, Independence Day, with grandeur and dignity across the state. A state-level coordination meeting was recently held under the chairmanship of the Additional Chief Secretary of the Government of Chhattisgarh. In the meeting, all concerned departments were instructed to organize the celebrations in a dignified, well-organized manner, filled with a spirit of patriotism, just like every year.

The main state-level Independence Day celebration will be held at Police Parade Ground in Raipur from 9:00 AM onwards. On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai will hoist the National Flag and deliver a message to the people. A Guard of Honour will also be presented to the Chief Minister by a combined parade.

The parade responsibility at the main ceremony in Raipur has been assigned to the Inspector General of Police, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces. The parade will feature contingents from BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, SSB, Chhattisgarh Armed Forces (men and women), Home Guard, and NCC cadets.

On the occasion, various medals and awards will be distributed by different departments. Departments have been instructed to form a jury and submit the list of selected names to the General Administration Department by 29 July 2025. Proposals received after the deadline will not be considered.

The Chief Minister’s message to the public will be broadcast statewide via Doordarshan and All India Radio. After the main ceremony, students will present patriotic group dances and songs. The School Education Department will form a jury for these student performances, and awards will be distributed at the venue.

The Collector, Superintendent of Police, and Municipal Commissioner of Raipur have been entrusted with several important responsibilities regarding the main event’s arrangements.

To mark the occasion, public buildings and national monuments across the state will be illuminated on the night of 15 August. Private institutions are also encouraged to hoist the national flag and participate in the lighting displays. Instructions have been issued to Collectors to organize programs and exhibitions at the district, block, and panchayat levels.

Freedom fighters and families of soldiers martyred in Naxal violence will be honorably invited to attend the celebrations.
