Serious irregularities alleged in the rationalization of teachers
Action taken by the Commissioner of Sarguja Division
Raipur, June 10, 2025 — The Commissioner of the Sarguja Division has suspended Surendra Prasad Jaiswal, the Block Education Officer (BEO) of Manendragarh in the Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, with immediate effect. This action was taken following the directives of the state government due to serious irregularities during the rationalization process of schools and teachers.
According to the issued order, Mr. Jaiswal is accused of manipulating the seniority list of teachers, providing incorrect subject information, and failing to follow the rotation rules.
The order mentions three major irregularities:
1. In Secondary School Ledri, Mrs. Gunjan Sharma was declared surplus despite being senior in the order of seniority.
2. In Primary School Chimtimar, based on the date of appointment, Mrs. Arnima Jaiswal should have been declared surplus, but instead, Mrs. Sandhya Singh was placed in the surplus list.
3. In Secondary School Salhi, incorrect information was given regarding the subject of teacher Mr. Suryakant Joshi, and the subject rotation rules were not followed.The Sarguja Commissioner considered this as negligence of duty and arbitrary behavior, and suspended Mr. Jaiswal under the Chhattisgarh Civil Services (Conduct) Rules, 1965 and (Classification, Control, and Appeal) Rules, 1966.
During the suspension period, Mr. Jaiswal’s headquarters has been designated as the office of the District Education Officer, Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur.
