CM holds meeting with officials of Surajpur, Korea, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districtsGives key instructions on drinking water, PM Awas Yojana, and rural employment

Raipur, May 8, 2025 — Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai today chaired a joint review meeting of Surajpur, Korea, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur districts at the Surajpur District Panchayat auditorium. The Chief Minister extensively reviewed the progress of government schemes and issued several important directives to officials.The Chief Minister directed that hand pumps identified for repair under the complaints received during the “Good Governance Festival” should be fixed within ten days. He asked officials to extend rising pipes in the hand pumps and ensure timely repairs to secure drinking water supply for rural residents.The Chief Minister instructed officials to expedite revenue-related cases and distribute property documents under the Swamitva Yojana. He also emphasized the swift resolution of undisputed cases of land mutation, division, demarcation, and map corrections.Highlighting the importance of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY), the Chief Minister said it is a top-priority scheme and no negligence would be tolerated at any level. He made it clear that if any beneficiary presents an approval certificate for the PMAY, the vehicle transporting sand for house construction should not be stopped by the mining department. He also instructed strict action against anyone involved in irregularities under the scheme.CM Sai called for prompt action against “Awas Mitras” (housing assistants) showing negligence in their duties. He further noted that with the expected increase in the number of PMAY houses, there will be a need for more trained masons. He directed officials to ensure mason and construction training under the National Rural Livelihood Mission to create employment opportunities and speed up construction work.The Chief Minister emphasized the need for effective implementation of public welfare schemes and their reach to the common people. He reiterated that the government’s priority is the village, the poor, and the farmers, and it is the state’s responsibility to bring positive change to their lives.The meeting was attended by Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Laxmi Rajwade, Surajpur Zila Panchayat President Smt. Indumani Paikra, MLA Shri Bhaiyalal Rajwade, Manendragarh district in-charge secretary Shri Bhuvnesh Yadav, Sarguja Division Commissioner, Inspector General of Police, collectors of Surajpur, Korea, and Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur, superintendents of police of the three districts, chief executive officers of the district panchayats, and officers from various departments.
