Raipur, April 4, 2025:Under the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Mr. Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Mineral Resources Secretary Mr. P. Dayanand, Chhattisgarh has set a new benchmark in mineral revenue collection for the financial year 2024\u201325.The state has earned a record \u20b914,195 crore through mining operations, marking an 11% increase\u2014\u20b91,400 crore more\u2014compared to \u20b912,795 crore collected in FY 2023\u201324.Dantewada Leads in Mineral Revenue ContributionAmong the districts, Dantewada emerged as the top contributor, accounting for \u20b96,580 crore. Other notable contributors include Korba with \u20b92,148 crore, Raigarh \u20b92,027 crore, Balod \u20b91,313 crore, Sarguja \u20b9585 crore, Balodabazar \u20b9354 crore, Kanker \u20b9328 crore, and Surajpur \u20b9155 crore.National Importance in Mineral ResourcesDespite covering just 4% of the country\u2019s total geographical area, Chhattisgarh contributes over 16% to India\u2019s total mineral production value. The state boasts large reserves of iron ore, coal, limestone, and bauxite, which form the backbone of its mineral revenue. In total, 28 types of mineral deposits have been confirmed, including those of strategic importance.Boost from E-Auction SystemSince 2015, the Department of Mineral Resources has allocated mineral blocks through an e-auction process, generating additional revenue in the form of premiums apart from royalties. The rising share of revenue from mines allotted through this transparent mechanism is now clearly evident.Mineral Development Fund Fuels InfrastructureFive percent of the total mineral revenue is allocated to the “Mineral Development Fund,” which supports infrastructure development in remote areas of the state. For FY 2025\u201326, approximately \u20b9200 crore has been earmarked exclusively for railway corridor development in such regions.Driving Socio-Economic GrowthThe mining sector in Chhattisgarh is not merely a source of raw materials for industries, but a key pillar of the state\u2019s socio-economic progress.> \u201cChhattisgarh\u2019s land is not only rich in mineral wealth but also brimming with developmental potential and a commitment to public welfare.
