President Droupadi Murmu to Present Awards on July 17 in New Delhi<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CM Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy CM Arun Sao Congratulate Selected Urban Bodies<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Raipur, July 12, 2025 \u2014 Chhattisgarh has once again made a strong mark on the national stage in the field of cleanliness. In the Swachh Survekshan 2024, seven urban local bodies (ULBs) from the state have been selected for national-level awards in recognition of their outstanding performance in maintaining cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The awards will be presented during the Swachh Survekshan Awards Ceremony scheduled to be held on July 17 in New Delhi. President Smt. Droupadi Murmu will confer the awards, and Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Manohar Lal and Minister of State Mr. Tokhan Sahu will also be present at the event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In this ceremony, President Murmu will present the President\u2019s Award to three ULBs from Chhattisgarh for their excellence in cleanliness:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bilaspur Municipal Corporation (for cities with a population between 3 lakh to 10 lakh)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kumhari Municipality (for towns with a population between 20,000 to 50,000)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bilha Nagar Panchayat (for towns with a population under 20,000)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
In addition, Raipur Municipal Corporation will receive the Ministerial Award from the Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for its exemplary state-level performance in cleanliness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
This year, a new special category called the Super Sanitation League (SSL) was introduced to honor cities that have ranked in the top three at least once in the past three years and continue to rank in the top 200 in their respective population categories. Three ULBs from Chhattisgarh have been selected under this category:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ambikapur Municipal Corporation (for cities with 50,000 to 3 lakh population)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Patan Nagar Panchayat<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Bishrampur Nagar Panchayat (both under the category of towns with less than 20,000 population)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Shri Arun Sao extended their congratulations and best wishes to all seven selected urban bodies. They stated that this achievement is the result of the continuous and dedicated efforts by the Urban Administration and Development Department and the local bodies to keep Chhattisgarh\u2019s cities clean and beautiful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
CM Sai said, \u201cThe national recognition of seven urban bodies from Chhattisgarh in Swachh Survekshan 2024 is a matter of pride for the entire state. It reflects the collective efforts of urban administration, local bodies, and citizens. Cities like Bilaspur, Kumhari, Bilha, Raipur, Ambikapur, Patan, and Bishrampur have set inspiring examples in cleanliness, which will motivate others as well.
