According to the MD of the Distribution Company, Mr. Bhim Singh Kanwar, the overall tariff hike is just 1.89% compared to last year \u2014 a negligible increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Key Points:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agricultural Consumers: While there is a small tariff hike in some categories, the state government will bear the cost, ensuring no added financial burden on farmers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tariff Relief Continued or Enhanced for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Temporary connections<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tribal areas<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Murmura-Poha processing units<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Printing presses<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electricity Supply Costs \u20b97.02\/unit to the company, but domestic consumers are charged as low as \u20b94.10\/unit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Low- and middle-income domestic users will see a minimal increase of \u20b90.10\/unit, while other domestic users will see a \u20b90.20\/unit increase.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electricity for stay-homes in government-notified Bastar and South Zone Tribal Development Authority and Sarguja and North Zone Development Authority areas will now be billed under domestic tariff categories.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For temporary connections under the domestic category, the tariff has been reduced from 1.5x to 1.25x the standard tariff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In Naxal-affected districts, to boost mobile communication, mobile towers will receive a 10% energy charge concession.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Agricultural pump sets will face a \u20b90.50\/unit hike, but the state government will cover this cost.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non-domestic users will face a \u20b90.25\/unit increase, and the same rate (1.25x) applies to their temporary connections now instead of 1.5x.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Non-subsidized agricultural pump users will see their energy charge concession increased from 20% to 30%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Farmers can continue using up to 100W for lights and fans near agricultural pumps for field protection purposes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Electric Vehicle Charging Tariff:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Low voltage EV charging: \u20b97.02\/unit (same as average power cost)<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">High voltage EV charging: \u20b96.32 per kVAh<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Concessions &amp; Supportive Measures:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">10% energy charge concession continues for industries and businesses run by registered women self-help groups.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A 5% energy charge concession continues for hospitals, nursing homes, and diagnostic centers in rural and tribal development areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Poha and murmura mills now enjoy an increased 10% concession (up from 5%).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Advance payment discount has been increased from 0.5% to 1.25%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Offset printers and printing press consumers are now reclassified under industrial category instead of non-domestic, which offers lower rates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Conclusion:<br>These new electricity tariffs are balanced and supportive, particularly for agriculture, rural, and tribal segments, and promote overall economic development.
