Raipur, 9 July 2025:
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the roots of Buddhist tradition are deeply embedded in Chhattisgarh and that the state government is moving forward on the path of development while embracing Lord Buddha’s message of love, peace, and compassion. He was speaking at the unveiling ceremony of a newly installed grand statue of Lord Buddha at the Hotel Ground in Mainpat, Surguja district. On this occasion, the Chief Minister garlanded the statue and offered prayers, wishing happiness, prosperity, and peace for the people of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Expressing gratitude to the Tibetan community for their invitation on this auspicious occasion, CM Sai said that there are several places in Chhattisgarh where Lord Buddha is worshipped. The confluence of Buddhist, Jain, and Sanatan traditions in Sirpur is a remarkable example of the state’s inclusive culture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Recalling the 90th birthday of the Dalai Lama, the Chief Minister said the spiritual leader\u2019s life is a living embodiment of Buddha’s principles of compassion, love, and peace. He noted that the Dalai Lama’s message brings new hope and positivity to today\u2019s world. CM Sai mentioned that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and global leaders had extended birthday wishes to the Dalai Lama, reflecting the profound global impact of Lord Buddha\u2019s teachings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He described Mainpat as a place full of natural beauty and cultural diversity that captivates tourists. Highlighting the immense tourism potential of the region, he assured that the state government is fully committed to its holistic development. The Chief Minister also shared that the state’s new industrial policy gives special priority to tourism, and special incentives will be offered to those launching homestay facilities in areas like Mainpat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Responding to the demands of the Tibetan Cooperative Society, the CM announced \u20b910 lakh for the construction of a CC road from Saila Resort to the Buddhist temple in Mainpat and \u20b920 lakh for the construction of a shed at the ancient Buddhist temple.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also participated in a tree plantation ceremony during the event. Notably, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed according to traditional Tibetan customs. The atmosphere turned joyful as people greeted him with the Indian tricolor in hand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was attended by Surguja MP Chintamani Maharaj, Sitapur MLA Ramkumar Toppo, Collector Vilas Bhonsle, Settlement Officer Ms. Swang Yangtso, Tibetan Cooperative Society President Mr. Tamding Sering, Monastery Head Lama Dubje, Lama Jinpa, and many other members of the Tibetan community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
