Raipur, July 5, 2025 \u2013 Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai today extended his greetings on the Silver Jubilee year of the Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly while addressing a one-day workshop on \u201cParliamentary Reporting\u201d at the Assembly premises. He highlighted that the state assembly has completed a glorious journey of 25 years and has played a significant role in strengthening democratic values.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Chief Minister noted that workshops had recently been organized for legislators as well, benefitting many newly elected members. He emphasized the responsibility of legislators to raise their constituents\u2019 issues in the house and commended the vital role of journalists in bridging the assembly and the public. \u201cYou all work diligently to cover the proceedings of the assembly, allowing citizens to stay informed and understand how their concerns are being raised seriously by their representatives,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CM Sai also appreciated the tradition of honoring outstanding journalists by the Chhattisgarh Assembly, stating that such recognition boosts morale and encourages quality parliamentary reporting. He expressed confidence that the workshop would prove extremely beneficial for journalists and help ensure more effective communication of assembly activities to the public.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In his address, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh underscored the significance of parliamentary journalism, stating that journalists have played an invaluable role in Chhattisgarh\u2019s 25-year golden journey. He said parliamentary journalism is a highly sensitive responsibility that involves conveying accurate and unbiased information to the public while preserving the confidentiality, discipline, and dignity of the House.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Singh added that when journalists report impartially, keeping aside party lines, it strengthens democracy. He stressed that a deep understanding of the parliamentary system enables journalists to inform the public more effectively. He also noted the importance of presenting news related to legislative procedures in simple language to ensure they are easily understood by the masses. Remembering senior and late journalists of the state, Dr. Singh acknowledged their significant contribution to maintaining the dignity of parliamentary traditions in Chhattisgarh.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leader of Opposition Dr. Charandas Mahant compared the role of journalists to the tradition of sage Narad Muni, stating that journalists are vigilant messengers of democracy who work with timeliness and awareness. Dr. Mahant said the workshop provides an opportunity for learning and deepening the understanding of parliamentary journalism. He hoped the event would be fruitful and provide new direction to the work of journalists. Reflecting on his long parliamentary journey, he recalled the valuable time and experiences shared with journalists, appreciating their alertness, accuracy, and sensitivity in conveying legislative developments to the public over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
