Raipur, 19 June 2025 \u2013<\/strong> On the directive of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Sharadadham, a renowned religious and natural tourist destination located on the inter-state border of Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand, has been included in the list of identified tourist sites by the Chhattisgarh Tourism Board. The board has issued a circular to this effect. This decision will help the site gain a new identity, and the board will now allocate budget for promoting the destination and developing basic tourist facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharadadham: A Unique Blend of Devotion and Knowledge<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharadadham represents a remarkable confluence of devotion to Goddess Saraswati\u2014the goddess of learning\u2014and the pursuit of knowledge. Special coaching facilities are provided here for underprivileged children from both Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand. According to Sharadadham Committee President Rajkumar Singh, the children receive free accommodation, meals, and coaching. All the expenses for their stay and education are covered through donations and support from devotees.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A Scenic and Revered Religious Tourist Destination<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sharadadham is located in the Duldula block, about 30 kilometers from Jashpur district headquarters. The famous temple of Goddess Saraswati is surrounded by dense forests, and the soothing sound of the nearby Girma River mesmerizes visiting devotees. The temple has been built entirely through voluntary labor by devotees from both states. The temple’s architectural design is inspired by the famous Lachalagarh Hanuman Temple in Jharkhand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jashpur Emerging as a Tourism Hub<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Notably, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai is actively working to develop the tourism sector in the forested region of Jashpur. Under the Bharat Darshan Scheme, \u20b910 crore has been sanctioned for the development of the Mayali Nature Camp in Kunkuri block. Recently, Madheshwar Mahadev in the same region was recognized by the Golden Book of World Records as the world’s largest natural Shiva Lingam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Furthering tourism development, the Chief Minister has also announced the construction of a suspension bridge on the lines of Laxman Jhula at Kotebiradham in the Farsabahar block. Efforts are also underway to develop other tourist sites like Deshdekha and Raneedah.
