Raipur, 14 June 2025<\/strong> Chhattisgarh has achieved a historic milestone in the field of education. Thanks to the visionary leadership of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, not a single school in the state\u2014from primary to higher secondary\u2014remains without a teacher. There has been a remarkable 80% decrease in the number of single-teacher schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This transformation was made possible through a systematic rationalization process aimed at the equitable use of educational resources, logical placement of teachers, and compliance with the spirit of the Right to Education Act and the National Education Policy by ensuring adequate teacher presence in all schools.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Previously, the state had 453 teacherless schools and 5,936 schools with only one teacher\u2014many of them in remote and sensitive districts like Sukma, Narayanpur, and Bijapur. To address this critical issue, the government undertook a three-phase teacher counseling process at the district, divisional, and state levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

As a result, all schools in the state now have at least the minimum required teaching staff, including high schools. CM Vishnu Deo Sai commended this initiative, saying:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We made a firm resolution that no child in Chhattisgarh will study without a teacher. Through rationalization, we\u2019re not only upholding the Right to Education Act but laying the foundation for a strong and equitable education system. This is not just a reshuffling\u2014it is the restoration of justice in education.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He also emphasized that improving single-teacher schools remains a top priority, and more teachers will be deployed through promotions and new appointments in the coming months.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The government is now focusing on 1,207 primary schools that still have only one teacher. A targeted strategy has been devised, involving the promotion of head teachers, fresh teacher appointments, and prioritized postings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
